Terms of use

The agreement between you and Reallyquite Ltd for using Somethinger. Plain English on purpose.

What Somethinger is

Software for running leagues, clubs and the recurring commitments in your life. We provide the tools. The leagues and clubs using them are run by their own committees, and their decisions โ€” who's in which division, what the subs are, what counts as a valid result โ€” are theirs, not ours.

Your account

  • Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
  • Give us an email address that works โ€” it's how we reach you about things that matter, like a moved fixture or a failed payment.
  • One person per account. Captains hand over teams to a successor rather than sharing a login.
  • You can delete your account at any time.

If you run a league or club here

You take on some responsibility, because you're deciding what happens to other people's information.

  • You are the data controller for your members' records. Add people's details only where you have a proper reason to.
  • Tell your members their names will appear on public pages โ€” tables, results and statistics โ€” and remove anyone who asks.
  • What you publish is yours: results, decisions and any disputes about them are for your committee to settle.
  • Don't use the email tools to send marketing to people who haven't asked for it.

Payments

Where a league or club collects money through Somethinger, the money is theirs, not ours. Payments are handled by Stripe and go directly to that organisation's own Stripe account. We take a small fee per transaction, which is shown to the organisation before they enable payments.

  • We never hold your money and never see your card details.
  • Refunds are the organisation's decision โ€” ask your league, not us.
  • If a payment goes wrong, tell us and we'll help work out what happened, but the contract for what the money buys is between you and your league.

What we ask of you

  • Don't attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • Don't upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to share.
  • Don't use it to harass anyone. Leagues are small worlds and this matters more here than most places.

We may suspend an account that does these things, and will say why.

What you can expect from us

We aim to keep the service running and your data safe, and we take backups. But this is software provided as it is: we can't promise it will never be unavailable, and we don't guarantee it's free of faults. If something breaks on a match night, tell us and we'll fix it as fast as we can.

We won't hold ourselves responsible for indirect losses โ€” a match not played, a season disrupted โ€” beyond what the law requires of us. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, which cannot be limited.

Your data and your records

Your league's records belong to your league. You can ask for an export at any time, and we'll provide one in a usable format. We won't hold your data hostage if you decide to leave โ€” see the privacy notice for what we store and for how long.

Changes and endings

We may change these terms; if a change matters, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect. You can stop using the service whenever you like. If we ever need to close the service, we'll give reasonable notice and time to export your records.

The legal bit

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions: hello@somethinger.com.
